St. Kilian encourages a positive learning environment and requires, without exception, that all persons involved follow acceptable standards of behavior. Classroom sizes are kept small to maintain control and provide an optimal learning environment. And, expectations of behavior outside the classroom (i.e. bathroom, playground, lunchroom, etc.) are clearly discussed and enforced with students. St. Kilian's discipline policy is based on respect for others and its goal is to lead students to achieve self-discipline and responsibility for their own actions. All discipline policies are in accordance with Archdiocesan Policy 5411.
All doors to St. Kilian are locked. The only accessable entry, during school hours is located at the High Street entrance. Visitors must ring the security door bell with camera to be buzzed in and are required to sign-in the vistor book. Those staying in the school will be given a vistor's pass to be worn on their shirt for all to visually see. We also have a crisis communication plan developed and continually updated in the event of an emergency.
