St. Kilian encourages a positive learning environment and requires, without exception, that all persons involved follow acceptable standards of behavior. Classroom sizes are kept small to maintain control and provide an optimal learning environment. And, expectations of behavior outside the classroom (i.e. bathroom, playground, lunchroom, etc.) are clearly discussed and enforced with students. St. Kilian's discipline policy is based on respect for others and its goal is to lead students to achieve self-discipline and responsibility for their own actions. All discipline policies are in accordance with Archdiocesan Policy 5411.
All doors to St. Kilian are locked with the exception of one door to the lobby, and all visitors are required to sign-in. We also have a crisis communication plan developed and continually updated in the event of an emergency.
